535 Federal Drive

This project comprised an active landslide approx. 8m high and 70 m long in the roadway cutting on Federal Drive, Federal NSW.

The landslide threatened Risk to Loss of Life to Road Users and Risk to Property Damage to the private residences above the road.

Following a preliminary options assessment, a Soil Nailing and Tensioned Mesh system was chosen as the best option form a landslide risk mitigation, aesthetic and economical perspective.

Following selection of the preferred remediation option WCC Engineers provided a full design and construction services using a staged approach:

     A. Geotechnical Investigation, Landslide Hazard Mapping and Risk Assessment to develop Construction Scope (risk-based approach);

     B. Analysis, Design, Construction Drawings and Detailed Construction Cost Estimate;

     C. Prepare Tender Documents inc. Specifications, Contracts and RFT, Run Tender, tender Assessment and Recommendations Report; and

     D. Construction, Geotechnical Supervision, Principals Appointed Person and Contract Administrator.

The project was delivered defect free on time and on budget by specialised contractors under the supervision of WCC Engineers.
