The Tooma project comprises a rock cutting on Tooma Road between Tumbarumba and Toom, NSW.
The cutting is undergoing erosion and scour of the weathered rock face which is in turn blocking the toe drain and threatening property loss of the adjacent private property.
Ahead of planned road upgrades along this section of road, the client has requested an options analysis with preliminary construction cost estimates in order to effectively mitigate the erosion.
Geotechnical mapping and UAV photo capture was used to develop a fully rendered 3D model anchored in the AHD co-ordinate system. This model was exported to AutoCAD Civil 3D for options assessment and quantities for preliminary construction cost estimates.
